The Boxcars do “Cloudy Days” from AKUS’ classic 1992 CD “Everytime You Say Goodbye”. Ron Stewart nails it. Just like Block.
Yes, I’m on a DTB kick. So normally (just like with anything else) when band members play with each other for an extended period of time, they get used to each others’ talent and ability on stage. Why is it that Ron Stewart can not only “wow” those in the audience, but also get similar looks from his bandmates? Because he’s Ron Stewart of course.
Yes, that’s right. Dan, Ron, Adam, Barry, and Justin have all went their separate ways (ok, with the exception of Adam and Ron w/ The Boxcars). For those of us too young to be around for the Bluegrass Album Band (yes, I am included), I am proud to say that I had the opportunity to see the DTB twice in person and have watched almost every DTB YouTube video there ever was. Never in my life have I seen a group of the finest musicians I’ve ever heard get up and do songs that only they want to play, make the crowd go completely wild, and have a blast while doing it. This was a bluegrass band’s bluegrass band. How do you get away with doing Crowe covers? Because, of course, you have Ron Stewart in your band. How then do you get away with rocking out 90′s AKUS covers? Because 60% of the old AKUS make up the band. RIP DTB. Farewell. Sad face
It’s always fun to see members of different bands playing together; it can be quite comical at times. The best part of the video is when Adam Steffey crouches down to use Sierra Hull’s microphone at 3:15. Good stuff.
