I was doing some recording and didn’t have the opportunity to post on Saturday so I’ll post an extra video tonight. Here’s a cool clip of Terry Baucom (the “Duke of Drive”) jamming with Darrell Webb on guitar, Ashby Frank on mandolin, and some others that remain unidentified.
Lou and Christy Reid pick up some phenominal Canadian musicians for their set on this Canadian TV station. J.M. Boucher, Canadian bass player extraordinaire, lays down some of most solid bass playing I’ve ever heard. You can only appreciate these videos on a system where you can hear the bass (turn the bass UP!!). Both of these videos are truly hidden gems. Enjoy!
I love seeing new bands work out old songs with their own little twists. Here is a Country Gentlemen tune that sneaks up in every jam session, but captured via video at IBMA 2010 for our listening pleasure. The tight harmony and bluegrass drive should make everyone’s hair stand up on the back of their necks…these guys rock!
It’s always fun to see members of different bands playing together; it can be quite comical at times. The best part of the video is when Adam Steffey crouches down to use Sierra Hull’s microphone at 3:15. Good stuff.
